I'VE GOT A TICKET TO RIDE

I'VE GOT A TICKET TO RIDE
This is my design team layout for April. I really had fun with this one. For the challenge we were given tickets, swiss dot paper, bazzill borders, and maya roads chipboard. As you can tell I love my vehicle. I love paper piecing so this layout was right up my alley. I thought this would also be a great layout for all of the "ULL" fans out their considering there logo is hot peppers and flames.

THE BEGINNING OF AN OBSESSION

THE BEGINNING OF AN OBSESSION
This was my design team layout for March. To tell you the truth I was not wild about the products we were given for this challenge at first, but as soon as I started putting my layout together I fell in love with these lines. We were given the spinner, the journaling block and four printed papers to work with. I loved hand stitching all of the baseball stripping on this layout. I also painted on the grass, added the metal baseball to the spinner and did some journaling around the spinner saying "will I score" all the way around. I think this is one of my favorites because it says so much about what makes up a lot of my son's personality.

Family

Family
I am so proud of this layout. This is the one that I won the scrapbook layout contest at Scrapfest in Mandeville with. The picture of this layout does not do it justice. This paper is from My Mind's Eye, Dirty Laundry Collection. Most of the embellishment are also in the line. Working with these great color combinations was great fun.

Design Team Bio Question and Anwsers

1. Tell us about yourself. What would you lide everyone to know about you?

First of all I am about to be 44 years young, married to my soul mate Phil for the last 20 (short) years. As you can see on the picture we have 3 beautiful children, Jordan 22, Philecia 18, and Hanna 14. I am the youngest child in my family and I am so called a little spoiled. I have lived in Lafayette since I was eight years old and hopfully will never leave this area. I am employed at Michael's Arts and Crafts which is a perfect job for me. I have experimented with most of the crafts we sell so I have a good bit of knowledge about the things we have available in the store. I have a passion for people and love to help them learn new crafts . I love laughing and making people laugh. What most people do not know about me is that I love to sing and secretly always wanted to be a country music singer.

2. What is your scrapbook style?

My scrapbook style is mostly eclectic but very matchy matchy. I feel like I have a special gift of color, and that I love helping people picking coordinating colors and patterns. I really have a problem with perfection on my pages so my layouts usually take me a long time.

3. How long have you been scrapbooking?

I have been scrapping for about 12 years. I was a scrapper before scrappin' was cool.

4. Who do you scrapbook?

Mostly my family, but also friends.

5. Name your top 3 tools.

My Tim Holtz scissors
Glue dots
Paper cutter

6. how are you inspired to get started on a layout?

I am inspired mostly by the pictures in my layouts. Whatever story the pictures are telling is the direction I take.

7. Do you have great tips to share?

Ladies please learn to us a ruler. I used to teach classes and was amazed at how many women that do not know how to measure with a tape measure or ruler. If you cutting something out with scissors it is much easier if you keep your scissors still and move the paper as you cut.

8. What are your favorite 3 embellishments?

Flowers
Glitter
Bling
9. What is your favorite paper line?

K & Co. is probably #1 but Basic Grey runs a close 2nd.

10. What is your favorite way to journal?

I don't journal much but if I do any at all it usually in the form of poem are sayings that are pre-made.

I Love ...Being Me

I Love ...Being Me
Yea!!! My first design team layout. After not scrapbooking for a while it is great to be doing something I love again. This layout was so much fun to do because it is the first one all about me and the things I love.

I Love You

I Love You
This is a layout all about how I feel about the love of my life. I spent 14 hours to put this one together. If you look really close all of the circles and keys have words on them that fill in the blanks of the sentences. This layout also has a pictuce of my own "Saint Philip".

Mud Bug Madness

Mud Bug Madness
My daughter Hanna is the mudbug all the way to the right. She and her friends wnet four-wheeling and came back looking like this. And everyone thinks that only little boys can get this dirty. I hope that you enjoy this layout as much as I did putting it together.
